アメリカ便り〜Report from America "Now Spring-cherry blossoms-"

Now spring, there are a lot of cherry blossoms here.
They have began to bloom from the first of this month, and also we can see many kinds of cherry trees, so can enjoy watching the blossoms during a long time, probably until the middle of this May.

今春、こちらでもたくさんの桜の花々が観られています。三月上旬には咲き始め、色々な種類の桜の木があるためこれからまだまだ５月中旬頃まで長い間楽しめるそうです。

On March 12th, I and my friend went to University Washington Seattle to watch cherry blossoms after going to Seattle downtown.
When we arrived at the University the weather had been changed to be cloudy, and almost began to be rainy.

3月12日、私は友人と共にシアトルダウンタウンへ行った後、同じくシアトルにあるワシントン大学へ花見に行ってきました。私達が到着した時には晴れだった天気も曇りへと変わり、今にも雨に降り出しそうな状態で…。

But the blossoms were still so beautiful. Too many people were still there, and admired them. We also enjoyed and admired them, and shot a lot of pictures.

それでも、桜は見事に美しく咲き誇っていて、沢山の観客が集まり其々に桜を愛でていました。私達ももちろんの事、桜を愛でて楽しみ、沢山写真を撮りました♪

The buildings of the university were old-fashioned appearance and beautiful.

桜もさながら、大学のキャンパス自体も古風な佇まいで美しいもので。

We also admired the buildings because we like arts, so they were very interesting to us. The combination of cherry blossoms and the buildings was wonderful!

その建物の美しさに感動した私たちは、桜と校舎の絶妙なコンビネーションに芸術魂を擽られてしまいました。

According to a suggestion of my friend,
we shot pictures each other at the front of the university, because we are students of the college which is belong to the University Washington in Bothell.

友人の勧めで、大学の入り口近くで学生ぶって記念撮影。だって、今私たちはボセルにあるワシントン大学付属のカレッジの生徒！（笑）

By the way, the library of the university is also famous. I had seen it on a website, and the inside of it is like a church and have many beautiful stained glasses. But this time I was not able to enter into the library because we didn't have enough time to stay there.

I'll go there again!

ちなみに、ワシントン大学は、その美しい図書館でも有名。ウェブサイトでかつて見たのですが、その中は教会のような佇まいで多くのステンドガラスで彩られているそう。一度行ってみたかったのですが、今回は時間がなくて諦めました。また行かなくちゃ！

My neighborhood and my college also show us many wonderful spring flowers. And animals or birds has been appeared around my home or everywhere.

私の家の近所でも私が通うカレッジでも、同じく素敵な春の花々を見ることができます。動物達や鳥達も家の周りやそこかしこでまた活動を始めています。

Last Wednesday, I walked to my teacher's house, and it took about one and half hours. While walking to my destination, I found many kinds of familiar flowers in Japan. I found field horsetail, I suddenly expected that there were also horsetail. And then I found it!!!
I was dancing in my mind because horsetail hunting is my role since I was a child.
I found only two this time, but probably I can look more somewhere!

先週水曜日、バスパスが切れていたので先生のご自宅まで一時間半かけて歩いて行きました。目的地へ向かう道すがら、日本でも馴染みの草花を見つけて、その中にはスギナも。

これはツクシの気配がするぞ…と思っていたら、その先で本当にツクシが生えているのを発見！！！
子供の頃から我が家で作り狩り専門だった私は見た途端に心が躍りました♪♪♪
今回は日本だけだったけど、探せばきっともっと沢山見つかるはず！

Few days ago, my father sent me a picture of the front of our home in Japan. I love my hometown, a lot of cherry blossoms are there. I was sad to be not seen a familiar sight directly.

数日前には日本にいる父から、家の目の前の桜の写真が送られてきました。私は桜の木が美しい故郷が大好きで、懐かしい景色をこの目で見ることが出来ないことにちょっぴり切なくなってしまいました。

Cherry blossoms has a lot of memories of everyone, someone feel happy and others feel sad. A lot of thoughts have been put in the trees.
The blossoms is a special flower for Japanese people, and probably also for here.

色んな人々の思い出が、喜び、悲しみ、色んな想いが桜の木に詰まっています。

Spring is really wonderful season.
