アメリカ便り「セールセールセール！」〜Report from America "Sale Sale Sale!!!"

The story dates back to the beginning of this month, I had gone to Seattle with my husband on May 7th Sat.

話は今月初めに遡り、５月７日（土）旦那様と一緒にシアトルへ行ってきました。

The most of our purposes was checking the book sale of Seattle public library, and second purpose was checking the glasswares sale of Glass Eye Studio.

一番の目的はシアトル市立図書館主催のブックセールを見に行くこと、そして二つ目の目的はグラスアイスタジオのガラス製品セールを見に行くこと。

As you know, actually my husband went fishing in early morning ( I'm already bored to tell that..lol), then we went to Glass Eye Studio at first so the sale had been closed at 1pm.

みなさんご存知の通り、やっぱり旦那様は朝イチに釣りに出掛け（もういちいち伝えるのが面倒になるくらい…笑）、その後、先ずは13時に閉会するグラスアイスタジオのセールへ。

There are a lot of beautiful glasswares in the outside venue.
The prices were really cheep, that's why we looked them with excitement.

会場には沢山のガラス製品があり、どれも破格値の物ばかりでワクワクしながら眺め。

I bought flower bases for souvenirs for my mother, and pretty snail's figurines for myself. My husband bought a wine stopper, something figurine, and a souvenir for his neighbor in Japan.

私は母へのお土産に花瓶を、自分にはカタツムリの置物を買いました。旦那様はワインの栓と何かの置物、それから日本にいるご近所さんへのお土産を買っていました(*^^*)

Surprisingly they were almost quarter price ( or less than it) of usual, probably because they were not perfect or were already too old.

完璧な仕上がりでないのか、はたまた、かなり古いものもあるのか、それらは定価の4分の１（若しくはそれ以下）程度の価格でビックリ！

Then, we got into the restaurant nearest of the studio because my husband was really interested in the restaurant just before we went to the studio.

それから、旦那様がグラスアイスタジオに行く直前に見かけて気になっていたレストランへ。

we ordered meat dishes a waitress recommended, and in addition I ordered barbecue style beans.
To say the fact, they were so-so, but I liked the beer, the waitress recommended me also it. She said it was local beer of Fremont, the town the restaurant and the studio located in (and the one of my favorite towns and cities.)

私達は女性店員に勧められた肉料理に加えてバーベキュー味の豆煮込みを注文。
正直言ってお料理はそこそこな感じでしたが、これまたその女性店員が勧めてくれた地元フリーモントの地ビールが気に入りました！
（フリーモントはグラスアイスタジオとそのレストランがある街で私が大好きな街の一つでもあります。）

The outside of the restaurant, two pretty goats were in a gage, I watched their feeding, and they immediately started fighting in the competition of feed. It was humorous and funny :)

レストランの外には檻に入った2匹の可愛らしいヤギが居て、私はえさやりを見ていたのですが、彼らは突然餌を巡って喧嘩を始め、その様子がなんだか滑稽で面白かった（笑）

After lunch, we finally went to the event venue of the book sale.
The venue was really big, and there were really lots of books in the hall！

お昼ご飯の後、ようやくブックセールのイベント会場へ。会場はとても大きくて、広間は正しく本だらけ！

I addicted to check books I want, then finally I took over 15 books. My husband excited to check music CDs.
Because the books or CDs were only $1 or $2 ( most of them were $1.)

私は欲しい本を探すのに夢中になり、最終的には15冊以上の本を抱えていました。旦那様はワクワクしながら音楽CDを探していて。
だって、どれもこれも1ドル若しくは2ドル！その殆どが1ドルポッキリなんだから！

For example.

I wanted to buy more and more, but I gave up to do so. But actually I became interested in the book sales from that time, I sometimes buy books on sale at some libraries, so some libraries always hold the book sales.

私はもっと買いたかったのですが諦めて…。
でもその時からブックセールに興味を持った私は、常時ブックセールをしている幾つかの図書館で時折本を買うようになりました。

I think American people really likes books and certainly clearance sales, and also the custom of donations. In fact, the book sales are made up on the basis of donations.

私が思うにアメリカの人々は本当に本が好きで、もちろんセールも大好きで、寄付という慣習も大切にしています。それもそう、ブックセールだって寄付の基に成り立っているのです。

What book or something can I get next time???

次はなにが手に入るのかしら？？？
