アメリカ便り〜憧れのLeavenworth〜

I want to tell the thing of the bottom at first.

Yesterday was 21 anniversary day of Hanshin Awaji Earthquake.
I prayed to God for everyone who was damaged the earthquake.
I would like once again sympathy for there were people and their families to the damage. And I would like to dedicate praise to everyone who has played a remarkable revival.

まず初めに。
昨日は阪神淡路大震災21周年の日でした。
私も、震災の被害に遭われた方々とそのご家族の為に神様に祈りを捧げさせていただきました。
改めて、被災者の方々とそのご家族にお悔やみ申し上げ、目紛しい復興を果たしてきた皆様に賞賛の意を捧げたいと思います。

Yesterday, I went to Leavenworth first time.

そんな昨日、私は初めてレーブンワースへ行ってきました。（※Leavenworth...ワシントン州東部の高山地帯にあるドイツ村）

The event was held by Cascadia International Programs（Participation fee was only $10!). Other day, I saw their flyer at near the classroom.
I wanted to go to Lesvenworth that I am longing for from ago, but I could not have courage.
But at the day that was deadline to participate the event, I decided to do it with my friend's advice.

カスカディアインターナショナルプログラムという部門が開催するイベント(参加費はたったの10ドル！...普通のツアー（日本人観光客向け）なら色々なオプションも付きはしますが大体200ドルはします）で、ある日教室の近くでそのチラシを発見。
予てからの憧れの地レーブンワースへ行きたい！と思いながら、なかなか勇気が出ず…。
けれども、友人の後押しもあって締め切り当日に参加することを決めました。

At the morning, I went to the meeting place of college, and I met many young people at there.
I still can not speak English well.
So I was afraid to talk with them.

その日の朝、集合場所に行くと、そこには沢山の若者達が。
私は未だに英語を上手く話せないので、若者達と話すことが怖くて恐縮…。

But, in tourist bus, the Chinese boy recommended his friend to talk with me.
She is young Chinese girl and is the third generation of Japanese.
And the teacher who likes Japanese song invited me to sing Japanese song together.
I felt so happy!
And then, I became able to talk with others.

けれども観光バスの中で、ある中国人の男の子が彼の友達である日系三世の中国人の女の子に、私と話すように勧めてくれたり、日本の歌が好きだという先生が一緒に歌おうと誘ってくれたりしてくれて…とっても嬉しかった！
お陰で他の人とも話せるようになりました。

By the way, it took so long time than usually to arrive at there, because too much snow was on the road, and many ski customers were there.
It took about four and a half hours to arrive.

ところで、行きの道のりは豪雪と多くのスキー客による渋滞で通常より非常に長い時間が掛かり、ようやく到着できたのは出発して約4時間半後。

After arrived, I was exploring the town with international students of Japanese and Saudi Arabia.
It was too short time to do sightseeing, but it was so funny time to me.
We had lunch at Italian restaurant, and made tiny snowman, and took pictures each other.

到着後、私は日本人留学生とサウジアラビア留学生の子達と一緒に町を散策しました。
とても短い時間でしたが、一緒にご飯を食べたり、小さな雪だるまを作ってみたり、お互いのカメラで写真を撮りあったり、とても楽しい時間を過ごすことが出来ました。
